Footsteps of Jesus...Walk in love

The journey through Lent and Easter is a journey with Jesus.

Join us for Christian Education for ages preschool – adult beginning March 3rd – April 7th as we walk the footsteps of Jesus, his ministry and his call to us. We will practice walking with Jesus, connecting  bible stories with our spiritual disciplines such as prayer, bible study, Sabbath keeping and sharing the story. We will ponder how these spiritual disciplines are surprisingly provocative, challenging, counter cultural, and even subversive - just as Jesus was.

There will be opportunities for rich discussion & reflection, interactive hands on lessons, music, outreach, pop casts, holy hikes and take home lessons, as we walk in love into our community and into the world.

Children ages 4 – 5th grade will meet in the preschool.  Middle School/High School Bible Study will meet in the Boslaugh classroom.

Adults will meet in the adult education room. Classes meet at 10:10am – 10:40am.

What is 30 Good Minutes?

 

30 Good Minutes  is a result of a parish wide survey asking for more Christian Education at St. David's Episcopal Church, specifically on Sunday mornings. With discerning prayer along with the practicality of how, it seemed the best way to do this was to offer this between services enabling the 9:00am congregation to stay after service and the 11:00am congregation to come early. This is how 30 Good Minutes: Christian Education for all ages, preschool - adult was born.

 

The pilot program was launched during Lent of 2014. This was a success having over 100 participants each week. The results in a follow up survey along with verbal input resulted in the decision to offer this 2 times a year: fall and spring. Beginning in the fall of 2019, as part of the Strategic Plan for St. David's Episcopal Church and School, Christian Education will be offered every Sunday between services and the schedule will follow the LCPS calendar.  

 

Each 30 Good Minutes series will be themed based and rich in discussion as we explore and learn together.
